Training & Outreach

The CCE offers a wide range of training and outreach activities aimed at enhancing computing and cybersecurity education. The CCE provides professional development for educators, CS certification training for MSU students, cybersecurity improvement training for small businesses, cyber awareness training for the community, and re-skilling training in cyber and AI literacy.

Additionally, the CCE hosts numerous STEM outreach events, including summer camps, mobile events, and sessions in local school districts. These initiatives are designed to engage students and spark their interest in cybersecurity and computing. The CCE also presents at various state conferences on the topics of computer science, cybersecurity, and AI. 

Mobile STEM and Cybersecurity Learning Unit

The Center for Cyber Education’s 28-foot mobile learning unit brings hands-on STEM and cybersecurity experiences directly to schools, organizations, and communities. Designed to be flexible and engaging, the mobile unit can be tailored to support a variety of learning goals, age groups, and event formats.

Programs for Students and Adults

For K–12 students, the mobile unit offers engaging STEM activities that introduce emerging technologies and career-connected skills. For adult learners, the unit can be configured to provide practical training in cybersecurity awareness, artificial intelligence fundamentals, and digital readiness.

Scheduling Options

The mobile unit can be scheduled for half-day, full-day, or multi-day events at school districts, organizations, or community locations. Programs may be customized based on audience, event goals, available space, and desired learning outcomes.

Curriculum and Professional Development Support

The Center for Cyber Education partners with school districts to brainstorm, design, and support curriculum and professional development opportunities aligned with district goals. Support can be customized to help educators integrate computer science concepts and practices into core subject areas, address specific grade levels, and respond to district priorities.

Summer Camps and Learning Opportunities

The Center for Cyber Education offers summer camps and learning experiences for students and educators. Camp topics and audiences vary each year, with opportunities designed to introduce participants to emerging technologies, strengthen STEM skills, and connect classroom learning to real-world careers.

Opportunities for Students and Educators

Historically, CCE has hosted STEM camps for students in grades 4–12 and professional development camps for teachers in cybersecurity and related technology areas. Each camp is designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and relevant to the needs of the audience served.

Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, participants see how technology shapes careers, industries, and everyday problem-solving. Camps emphasize curiosity, confidence, and practical connections between STEM learning and future opportunities.
